Sub:-   UNIFORMS – Providing of Shoes to Artisans and Security Personnel – Further instructions - Issued.

Instructions were issued through the Circular 1^st   cited for supply of Bata make Ambassador Shoes to the security personnel once in every two years. 

Further, instructions were issued through the Circulars 2^nd and 3^rd cited for supply of Bata Make Shoes once in 2 years to the following categories of employees working in the Units in lieu of Foot Wear Allowance.  

A)  WORKSHOPS: 

              i)  Black Smiths                        ii)  Hammer man         iii) Welders       

            iv)  Machinists                            v)  Coach Builders      vi) AC Electricians  

            vii) Machine Minders    

           viii) Helpers working in glass cutting Sections

            ix)  Khalasis working in Machine Shops and

              x) Boilermen working in TRSs.

B) DEPOTS:

               i)    Black Smiths                               ii)    Hammer man

               iii)  Welders /Tin smiths                    iv)   A.C. Electricians 

C) A.C. Electricians of Electrical Relieving gang of Head Office. 

Instructions were issued through Circular 4^th cited to procure and supply Bata make Shoes of any model at the rates ranging from Rs.500/- to Rs.700/- to Artisans/Helpers and Khalasis of Workshops/Depots. 

Further, instructions were also issued through the circular 5^th cited for supply of BATA Make Shoes of any Model that is available in the market at the time of procurement, at the rates ranging from Rs.900/- to Rs.1000/- and suitable to Security Personnel, in order to avoid confusion whenever Shoes models are changed. 

Vide Circular 6^th cited, instructions were issued to supply Shoes to DC Electricians also.

Now, keeping in view the escalation of prices and the difficulties experienced by the Stores Department in arranging procurement and supply of Bata Make Shoes to all the above categories including Security personnel, at the rates prescribed by APSRTC, the matter has been re-examined.

After examining the issue in detail, the competent authority, with the concurrence of CAO, has accorded approval for supply of BATA Make Shoes of any Model that is available in the market at the time of procurement, at the enhanced rates as detailed below.

However, the method of procurement and supply of shoes, as stipulated in the circulars cited remain unchanged. The employees who are supplied with Shoes are not entitled for Foot Wear Allowance.

These instructions will come into force with immediate effect.
