Sub:-    PAY - Special Pay granted to Typists - Treatment of Special Pay as Personal Pay on promotion to the post of Senior Assistant - Instructions - Issued.

Through Circular 1^st cited, instructions were issued for discontinuing the facility of protection of Special Pay granted to Typists as Basic Pay for the purpose of fixation of pay on promotion to higher posts w.e.f. 27.12.1996, to fall in line with the Government pattern.

The General Secretary, APSRTC NMU (Recognised) has represented to continue the Special Pay to the Typists even on their promotion as Senior Assistants, since there is a reduction in their total emoluments on effecting promotion as Senior Assistants.

On considering the request of General Secretary, APSRTC NMU (Recognised), the Board vide reference 2^nd cited has resolved to continue the Special Pay drawn by the Typists as “Personal Pay”, on their promotion as Senior Assistants.  The Board also resolved to extend the said benefit only to those Typists, who are promoted as Senior Assistants after 01.04.2009 and to allow the financial benefit with effect from 1^st January, 2011.

Therefore, the Special Pay drawn by the Typists, who are promoted as Senior Assistants after 01.04.2009, shall be continued as “Personal Pay” on effecting promotion as Senior Assistants.  But, they are entitled to the financial benefit with effect from 1^st January, 2011.

This has the concurrence of Chief Accounts Officer.
