Instructions have been issued vide reference 6th cited to make payment of  funeral expenses of Rs.2000/- to the family members of  deceased casual employees who have been selected/recruited through proper channel by approved Selection Committees and died prior to regularisation.

 

Vide Circular under reference 8th cited,  instructions have been issued to make payment of funeral expenses of Rs.2000/- to the family members of deceased contract employees who have been selected/recruited through normal recruitment process and died in harness.

 

 Subsequently instructions were issued pending ratification by the Board vide Circular under reference 10th cited, enhancing the funeral expenses from the existing Rs.2000/- to Rs.5000/- to the family members of deceased employees including Officers. The Board vide Resolution under reference 11th cited has ratified the same.

 

The Board vide Resolution No.153/2007 dt.28.12.07 has resolved to accord approval for sanction of enhancement of funeral expenses from the existing Rs.2000/- to Rs.5000/- to the family members of deceased Casual and Contract employees also i.e., on par with regular employees.

 

The Unit Officers are therefore, advised to make the payment of funeral expenses of Rs.5000/- to the family members of deceased Casual and Contract employees who have been selected/recruited through normal recruitment process and died in harness on the same lines as is being done presently in case of regular employees.

 

The expenditure is chargeable to A.H.No.5567 (Production Units) and 6017(other units). These instructions will come into force with immediate  effect.

 

This has the concurrence of Chief Accounts Officer.
