Sub:-   LEAVE - Counting the period of Maternity/Hospital Leave for the purpose of declaration of probation -  instructions  reiterated – Reg.

Instructions were issued through circular under reference regarding the treatment of period of Maternity Leave/Hospital Leave for the purpose of earning of leave, increments and for declaration of probation.  

Of late instances have come to notice, wherein the period of Maternity Leave is reckoned for the purpose of declaration of probation, though the regulations stipulate that the period of probation shall be one year’s duty. 

Therefore, the following instructions are reiterated for strict compliance.

1.      The period spent on Maternity Leave shall be taken into account for the purpose of earning increment. It shall not be counted for earning leave.  It shall not be taken as Duty for the purpose of declaration of Probation.  

2.      The period spent on Hospital Leave/Special disability Leave period shall be taken into account as DUTY for the purpose of earning of increment and leave. It shall not be taken as duty for declaration of Probation. 

      Action may be taken accordingly.
