        Sub :-  RECRUITMENT  - Verification of Driving Licences - Instructions - Issued.

        On a review of the recruitments of Drivers conducted in various Regions, it is observed that the rejection of the candidates for producing bogus driving licences are on highside.  The following instructions are issued in order to avoid appointing candidates with bogus Driving Licences.

        1.    In the exhibited panel of candidates selected by the Selection Committee, a mention to be made that the selection of the candidates is only provisional subject to verification of genuineness of their Driving Licences and that they will be appointed only after verification of genuineness of their driving licences.

        2.    The Regional Manager of the concerned Region shall send the Security Personnel for verification of genuineness of the Driving Licences of the candidates selected immediately after selection.  The Security Personnel shall verify the licences with the Licence issuing authorities of the State concerned whether within the State or outside the State.  In case of candidates who  obtained Driving Licence initially from out side State, got the licence renewed within the State, the genuineness of the Driving Licence shall be verified with the Original Licence issuing authority of the State concerned.  Where instances come to light that the Driving Licence produced by the candidate is bogus, a complaint may be lodged to the Police duly depositing the licence.

        3.    The Personnel Officer of the Region concerned shall ensure verification of genuineness of the Driving Licence by the Security personnel.   The Personnel Officer shall also ensure that the appointment orders are issued only after verification of genuineness of the Driving Licence.    The Personnel Officer of the Region concerned shall  be held responsible for any deviation of these instructions.

        Since verification of Driving Licences with the Licence issuing authorities within the State or outside the State shall  take some time, the Regional Managers shall plan for the recruitment of Drivers well in advance, taking into consideration the lead time for verification of Driving Licences as well as for process of recruitment and ensure that the panels of trained Drivers are kept ready before the peak season.

        The above instructions shall be followed scrupulously without any deviation with immediate effect.
