Sub: ALLOWANCES – Revision of certain Allowances to Class-II, III & IV Employees w.e.f. 01.01.2010 – Corrigendum Issued.
Ref: Circular No.PD-24/2010, dated 07.05.2010.

Instructions were issued through Circular cited duly communicating the Revision of existing allowances as at Annexure-I and New Allowances as at Annexure-II to the said Circular in respect of employees in Class-II, III & IV service effective from 01.01.2010.
It was stipulated vide Item No.3(a) of Annexure-I to the Circular cited for payment of Night Driving Allowance to the Drivers who perform above 240 KMs (Night Express/Super Luxury/Garuda/Deluxe services) @ Rs.21/- per duty. A New Allowance was introduced for payment of Night Driving Allowance to the Drivers who perform above 240 KMs on Inter State Services @ Rs.42/- per duty. This allowance was erroneously mentioned as “Special Allowance to crew on Inter State Services” vide Item No.12 of Annexure-II of the said Circular.
Thus, Item No.3(a) of Annexure-I and Item No.12 of Annexure-II shall be read as under:

The above allowance is applicable only to Drivers. Conductors are not entitled to the above allowance.
The Drivers who perform above 240 KMs on Inter State Services and eligible @ Rs.42/- per duty vide Item No.12 as modified above are not entitled to the allowance mentioned vide Item No.3(a).
This has the approval of the Competent Authority.
Necessary action shall, therefore, be taken accordingly.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Settlement 1st cited, Revised Scales of Pay 2009 have been notified for implementation through the circular 2nd cited. It was stipulated in the said circular that separate instructions will be issued with regard to Revision of existing Allowances and till such time the existing rates of Allowances shall be drawn. It was agreed in the Memorandum of Settlement 1st cited that the Revised Rates of Existing Allowances will be effective from 01.01.2010.
The Board in its meeting held on 07.05.2010 has accorded sanction for revision of certain allowances and introduction of certain new allowances to the Employees in Class-II, III & IV services.
The revised Allowances to Class-II, III and IV Employees effective from 01.01.2010 are shown at Annexure-I & II of this Circular. These allowances shall be implemented in the Salary Bill of May 2010. The difference of amount between the revised rates of allowances and existing rates of allowances (including new allowances introduced) for the period from January to April 2010 shall be drawn in two equal installments in the Salary Bills of June & July 2010 by debiting to A.H.1163.
Payment of difference of amount between the revised and existing rates of allowances is subject to pre-audit.
All the existing allowances which are not revised through this Circular shall continue.
Necessary action shall, therefore, be taken accordingly.
