       Sub: BUS PASSES - Sanction  of  Certain  Additional  Concessions  in APSRTC Buses for Retired Employees/Officers and their Spouses – Clarification – Reg.

          Ref: 1) Circular No.PD-21/2009, Dated 18.07.2009.

Instructions were issued through the Circular 1st cited, for providing the following additional concessional travel facilities to the Retired Employees/Officers, pending ratification of Board.

 

i)                    To permit the retired employee and spouse to travel free of  cost in all City/Sub-urban/Ordinary and Metro Express services;

 

ii)          To permit 50% concession in ticket fare to both employee and spouse to travel in AP round the year any number of times. (upto Deluxe Services for employees, upto Super Luxury for JSOs and SSOs and in all Types of services for EDs and HODs) ;

 

            Further, through the Circular 3rd cited, it has been communicated that, the Board in its Resolution No.92/2009, dt.14.9.2009 has ratified the same and also approved for continuance of the concessional travel facility to Retired Employee and Spouse during life time, from 13.11.2009 onwards.  Detailed instructions were also issued for issue of Integrated Identity Card to Retired Officers / Employees and their Spouses to avail concessional travel facility and Medical facilities. 

 

            Certain Units are seeking clarification with regard to allowing concessional travel facility to the Widow of the employee who died after Retirement.  APSRTC Retired Employees’ Association had also represented to allow concessional travel facility to the Widow in the event of death of retired employee.

 

            The matter has been examined.  Through the Circular 3rd cited vide point No.(ii), it was clearly furnished that the Depot Manager / Unit Officer concerned shall issue a type numbered individual Integrated Identity Card to the Retired Employees and Spouses during their life time.

 

            However, it is to clarify that,  all the living spouses of those employees who died after retirement are entitled to avail the Concessional Travel Facility and Medical Facilities during their life time. 

 

All the Depot Managers / Unit Officers shall issue Integrated Identity Card for i)  availing concessional travel facility in terms of Circular 1st cited and ii) Medical facilities under the “APSRTC Retired Employees Medical Facilities Scheme – 2003” reference 2nd cited to all the living spouses of those employees who died after retirement.

 

            Necessary action shall be taken accordingly.
