Sub:-    PAY - Special Pay granted to the Typists - Treating Special Pay as pay for fixation of pay on promotion to higher posts - Cancellation on adoption of Government  pattern - Instructions - Issued.

        Instructions were issued vide reference 1 to 3 cited, to treat the Special Pay granted to Typists as Basic Pay for the purpose of fixation of pay when a Typist is promoted to higher post, on adoption of the procedure notified by the State Government in G.O. Ms.No.27, Dt. 17.01.1978.

        After re-examining the matter in detail, the State Government have issued orders vide G.O 4th cited, discontinuing the facility of treating the special pay of Typists as pay for purpose of fixation of pay on promotion and directed that the orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.27, Finance & Planning (Fin . Wing FR -II) dated 17.01.1978 be cancelled with immediate effect.

        In order to fall on line with Government pattern, the Board vide Resolution 5th cited, resolved to cancel protection of special pay granted to Typists as Basic Pay for the purpose of fixing pay in the higher post when promoted w.e.f.  27.12.1996.

        It is therefore, hereby ordered that the special pay granted to Typists shall not be taken into account as Basic Pay for the purpose of fixation of Pay on promotion to higher posts.

        These instructions shall be deemed to have come into force w.e.f  27.12.1996 and action taken accordingly.

        This has the concurrence of Chief Accounts Officer.
