Sub :- INCENTIVE - Payament of Performance Incentive to Officers of the Corporation for the year 1996-97 - Orders - Issued.

1. The Board in its Resolution NO. 37/1998 Dated 30th April 1998 had accorded sanction for opayment of 'Performance Incentive' to the Officers of the Corporation for the Year 1996-97 as indicated hereunder to release to same.

2. The payment of Performance Incentive shall be made to all the Officers of the Corporation for the year 1996-97 provided they were in service during the year 199 - 97 (April to March)
3. The Performance Incentive shall be paid to the Officers of the Corporation, who were on Deputation to other Organizations during the year 1996-97 by the foreign Employer as per the deputation terms.
4. Similarly, the Officers, who were on Deputation with the Corporation during the year 1996-97 are eligible for the above Incentive payment. For the purpose of Performance Incentive, Land Acquisition Officer, Vigilance & Security Officers are eligible for receiving the Incentive on par with the Senior Scale Officers of the Corporation.
5. Those Officers, who were appointed / promoted in the middle of the year, i.e., OUTs appointed as Officers / Class - II Supervisions promoted as Officers and Officers promoted from one cadre in Class - I service, retired / expired/ resigned and whose service is less than 12 months during the year 1996-97, the payment of Performance Incentive may be paid for their service (excluding EOL and LWP) rounded off to nearest NO. of months in 1996-97 on pro-rata basis. For example, if the service rendered by a Junior Scale Officer in the Corporation in the year 1996-97 is 4 months, the amount payable would be 6000x4/ 12= Rs. 2,000.00 only.
6. Similarly, payment to Officers on deputation an whose service is less than 12 months during 1996-97 may be regulated on the above analogy.
7. Officers - under - Training who have undergone training through out the year 1996-97 are not entitled for payment of Performance Incentive, even if they had joined the Corporation on or before 1st April 1996.
8. The Performance Incentive shall not be paid to the Officers of the Corporation, who were under suspension or unauthorised absence during the year 1996-97, However, Officers suspended during 1996-97, though eligible for Performance Incentive shall not be paid until the suspension is lifted and reports for duty.
9. The Performance Incentive may be drawn and paid by the Drawing Officers taking March 1997 Salary Bill as the base and if the Officer has been subsequently transerred, the amount should be transferred by way of Credit Advice to the present place.
10. The Performance Incentive has to be included in "Salary Income" for TDS under Income Tax Act.
11. All the Drawing Officers are, hereby advised to draw the Performance Incentive amount to all the eligible Officers as per the rates specified above on or after 15.05.1998 duly pre-audited duly operating AH 91s of respective groups.
12. This has the concurrence of Chief Accuonts Officer.

Instructions were issued through Circular cited for payment of 'Performance Incentive' to th e eligible Officers of the Corporation on or after 15.05.1998 duly pre-audited for the year 1996-97.
A typographical error occurred in para 5, line 11, in the example given for calculation of amount on pro-rate basis, in the said circular. The example shall be read as follows :
PARA 5:_______ For example, if the service rendered by a Jr. Scale Officer in the Corporation in the year 1996-97 is 4 months, the amount payable would be 5000X4/12=1,667/- only.
