Sub :-  MILLWRIGHT MECHANICS - Upgradation of the category of Millwright Mechanic Gr.II  as Gr-I - Orders Issued.

On a representation to upgrade the category  of Millwright Mechanic Gr-II in all Production Units as Mill-Wright Mechanic Gr-I, the matter has been examined.

The Vice - Chairman & Managing Director, with the concurrence of Chief Accounts Officer, has accorded sanction to upgrade the category of Millwright Mechanic Gr.II existing in all Zonal Workshops, Tyre Retarding Shops and Body Building Works, as Millwright Mechanic Gr-I  (Artisan Gr-I) in the Scale of Rs. 1800-55-2515-70-3215-75-3365) with effect from 1st September 1997.

Since this up gradation is not a promotion, it does not attract the benefit under Regulation 9 (1) (a) of Pay & Allowances Regulations.  The pay of the existing Millwright Mechanic Gr-II be fixed at the next stage in the scale of  Millwright Mechanis Gr-I (Artisan -Gr-I).  This fixation will not affect their normal date of increment.

Further, they are not entitled for 12 years stagnation grade taking into consideration the previous service period in Gr-II posts and future service in Gr-I post.
