Sub:- HOUSING - Non-vacation of Departmental Quarters by the occupants consequent on their transfer - Revised Instructions - Issued.
Ref :- Circular No. PD-140/89, dated 24.10.1989.

Detailed instructions were issued through Circular cited for recovery of rent/penal rent from the occupants of Departmental Quarters. Permissible time to retain the Departmental Quarters and the rate of recovery of rent in case of failure to vacate the quarters within the permissible time in case of transfer, resignations/dismissal/removal/termination from service, retirement and death etc., has also been communicated there in.
Of late, it is noticed that most of the Officers / employees who are in occupation of departmental quarters are not vacating the quarters when they were transferred to outstation and submitting representations to retain the quarters for one reason or the other. It is causing hardship to the Officer/employees who are in waiting list for allotment of quarters.
The above issue has been examined in detail and the following revised instructions are issued duly modifying the instructions issued earlier on the above subject.
Permissible time to retain the Departmental Quarters and the rate of rent to be recovered in case of failure to vacate the quarter within the permissible time allowed in respect of transfer is furnished hereunder :

(Percentage of admissible HRA shall be calculated at the rates where the quarters are situated). | ||
In case of failure to vacate the quarters even beyond the period as stated above by the occupants of Departmental Quarters, necessary action will be initiated against them by the Estate Officer concerned in terms of the provisions of A.P Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised occupants) Amended Act,1986 to get the quarters evicted.
The above instructions will come into force with immediate effect and instructions contained in the Circular at reference cited are deemed to have been modified to the extent indicated above.
