Sub:     ESTABLISHMENT – Filling up the posts of Dy.Supdt(p) by promotion from among the Sr. Asst(P) and Stenographers – Consideration of candidates against the quota provided to each category – Reg.

As per the APSRTC Employees (Recruitment) Regulations 1966, communicated vide notification No. PD-5/2008, dated:25.09.2008, the method of Recruitment for the post of Dy. Supdt(P), is as follows:-

To be filled:-

a)                  by promotion by selection from the combined ranks of Sr.Asst(P) and Stenographers at the ratio of 3:1 respectively.

b)                  Must have passed the qualifying examination of Lower Personnel Management.

One of the units has sought a clarification whether while giving promotions to the rank od Dy.Supdt(P) from among the Sr. Asst(P) and Stenographers at the ratio of 3:1, in case a Sr.Asst.(P) refuse promotion, the post earmarked for Sr.Asst.(P) is to be filled up wih the next suitable Sr.Asst.(P) or otherwise.

The objective of fixing ratio of 3:1 is to provide opportunity to Sr.Asst(P) and Stenographers, with a view to ensuring promotions to the extent of quota provided to each category.

The procedure followed in respect of LV Drivers/Booking Clerks/Conductors for promotion as ADCs and Jr.Asst(P)/Typists as Sr. Asst(P) is examined in detail and it is felt appropriate to fill up the administrative roster points earmarked to the category by the next eligible Senior Assistant(P), if the Sr.Asst. refuse promotion for the post of Dy.Supdt(P).

Therefore, the following instructions are issued.

1)      If a suitable Sr. Asst.(P) refuse promotion, when promoted, the point earmarked for him shall be filled up by the next suitable Sr. Asst(P) only.

2)      If a suitable Stenographer refuses promotion, when promoted, the point earmarked for him shall be filled up by the next suitable Sr.Asst(P) only.

The above instructions issued, shall be followed with immediate effect
